Chepauk Experience (Ind vs Eng on 15-12-2008)

It was a wonderful weekend for me. After had a long vacation i went to the office to
Finish up the pending tasks which I left before taking the vacation. On Wednesday,
I got the call from Shiva (who is one of our junior team member) for getting the ticket For ongoing cricket match between Ind vs Eng. However, I was not sure whether I would get the chance to go for the match; I told him to buy a ticket for Myself, Senthil And Dharani. With that ticket we can go and watch the match on anytime of the match. Of course, as expected I was not able to go for the match on Thursday and Friday, but I have Decided to go on Saturday. On Saturday, as we decided myself and others have gone into the Chepauk Stadium around at 10:30 AM. By the time we have reached the Stadium India have started to lose all their wickets. We stayed there till 11 o clock. Meantime, Dharani got the call from his office and he started to leave the stadium. Since, we also got bored by watching the match we too started to return the home along with him. Then, As usual we spent the day with playing The badmittan.

On Sunday morning, as usual we went to play for circket match on Saidapet Ground. It was a 3rd successive years since we started to play the cricket on the Same venue. So, after the match we have decided to celebrate the occasion. But unfortunately we lost the 1st match but able to won the 2nd match. On the evening around 2:30 I got the call from siva to watch the cricket match on the stadium. He had a V.I.P ticket to watch the match so he called me to accompany me. Since England got all out and India about to start their batting i have decided to go along with him. When we enter into the stadium it was electrifying and the crowds were enjoying the match by making sounds with different things. By the time we reached India have started there batting and shewag has hit 3 fours. Then, We were watching the match till sehwag Played when he got out we returned to our home. That day, I was very fortunate to Watch the sehwag’s game he had scored quick 86 runs and he hit four 6’s In his innings. When we came to home all my friends were curiously asking about
the match and how was the experience when watch it from the stadium. After, I had
explained experience of the match they too wanted to watch the match and asked me to take the leave to watch it on Monday. Though, I had the office have taken the leave to watch the cricket match. Because, India had to score only 284 something. If they could keep their wicket for whole day they easily can chase the total.

On Monday, we all three started to go early to the stadium, so that we could watch the players in their warm-ups. When we went inside the stadium there Indian team was playing Football. We were really happy to see them very close to our stand. We all enjoyed to see the Indian players along with umpires, commentators and England players. Especially Sachin Tendulkar- one of my favorite cricketer had shown the gesture towards us. After enjoy watching the warm-up around 9:30 Gambhir and Dravid both had came into the ground to start the Indian innings. In Every corner of the stand there are Indian flags were flying in the crowd. We all were witnessing electrifying atmosphere in the ground. Some of them had different kind of things to create loud noises. By lunch India have lost 3 wickets and scored around 230. At 11:30 we got the lunch break and all we went to Madras university and had stomach full and came back to the stadium around 12:30. When we entered luxman and Sachin were playing it was wonderful to watch to luxman’s game he was so elegant and playing his shots freely. Unfortunately he didn’t last long then Yuvaraj singh came into the bat and started to play freely with his typical strokes. Though, Sachin was playing slowly he was backing yuvaraj to score his runs freely. Finally, sachin has scored a boundary when India needed 3 runs to win and he completed his 41 century and yuvaraj came into party with scoring 87 runs to beat the England by 6 wickets. When sachin had hit the four to take India into the victory the atmosphere of the stadium was amazing. People were standing allover the stadium and applauding India for their victory. For me, I don’t think will ever get the chance to see this kind of the match in my life time. I had the opportunity to watch the match when sehwag is in full flow along with sachin’s century and the battings of Laxman, yuvaraj and Gambhir. I would like to thank you for Shiva for getting the ticket for me to watch the match. I hope in the future also we will get the same kind of experience to enjoy the match with our friends.
