We planned to go for Munnar trip almost a year back, for this we joined in chit fund to accumulate some reasonable amount. Before 2 months of the trip, shiva has booked the train ticket for departure on 8-10-2011 and return ticket on 11-10-2011. Though initially, Dharani told will not join for the trip as usual when we all started to plan the trip he too wanted to join with us.
On 06-10-2011
finally, as planned, on 06-10-2011 Thursday evening around @ 6 o clock I, Senthil, Sasi and Rajesh came early and sit on the call taxi. Meanwhile, eswar came and told he will get tiffin for us and told us he will come with others. Meantime, Dharani as usual not present on time along with shiva too. After waiting few min we started to central station. After we reached and searching for the platform eswar came angrily asked Sasi why you all came early together. After sasi replied he got pissed off and took his luggage and said he didn’t want to come for the trip and started to go back to home.
After seeing this I and raman went to him and asked for the reason. He told when he was waiting for Dharani and asked him why late he replied why you people are waiting for me. Which made him angry and they both had a quarrel. Because of this, eswar doesn’t want to come since he is also joining in the trip. I and raman tried to convince him like anything in the public but he wasn’t convinced. Later, along with us Senthil and Sasi also joined and requested him to come with us. After that, half heartedly he boarded the train with us. Meantime, we all questioned dharani about the incident who was not at all bothered about anything and was cool us cucumber.
After we all boarded the train, I, eswar, shiva and raman all have sit together in one compartment and Senthil,sasi,dharani,rajesh and Shankar have sat together on another dept. On travel, we were chatting together and took some snaps there particularly eswar was still thinking about the incident and not fully involved on the journey. Around at 8 o clock, we started to have our dinner which we ordered from Saravanan and started to go sleep.
Next Day 7-10-2011
Around at 5 o clock we got up and prepared our luggage and reached the Alluva station around at 6 o clock. After we refreshedon railway station and came out with the feeling of entering into kerala first time in our lives. It was totally different feeling when we compare kerala with Chennai. The buses, auto rikshas and shops all were different from Chennai. After had a tea on shop we started walking towards bus stop. After waiting for few min, we got the bus to Munnar. Since it was a 3 and half hour trip to Munnar via mountains we didn’t wanted to waste a time and started to board the bus in spite of there was no seat available for us. After most of them have slept I and sasi were watching the route. Since it was first time travelling in mountain for that much distance we really scared of curve roads. After reaching, few minute later one of the guide known to sasi and rejesh came and took us to the place where we are going to stay.A
lso, he 
arranged one driver to show us the places near to Munnar. We all taken the bath in the hotel and I took some snaps with senthil, sasi, dharani, rajesh , shiva and Shankar. After few hrs a driver named sanoj came and 1st he took us to Rajamalai national park. There I took some snaps with eawar ,raman and shiva. There, after spending few hours climate was totally changed and we felt the mist crossing us.From there we went to Devikulam waterfalls. Since the climate was already cool when we place our foot on the water it felt like putting on the ice cube. But all were reluctant to take bath in that because of coolness. But after I jumped into the water and started to enjoy and scream Sasi,Senthil,rajesh, Shankar,dharani and shiva all joined with me and started to enjoy. It was the best ever enjoyment we had in the water falls. After that we took some snaps and had snacks in the nearby tea stall. It was the best joyous experience we had in Munnar. After this, we started back to room while coming bought the dinner from fast food and reached room around 8 o clock. There,I eswar, raman and shiva all shared one room and others were shared another room. Meantime, there was a champion’s league cricket match played between RCB and NSW so we watched that match in which gayle played superb innings and secured victory for banglore and after the match we started to sleep.
Next Day 8-09-2011
I and Senthil have got up early and ready with new costumes then slowly everyone got ready. Around at 9:30 the driver came and we started. Before we reached the jeep sasi and rajesh took the front seat with driver. I was sitting back to driver seat with dharani,shiva and eswar. senthil, raman Shankar were sitting on the back of the jeep. From there we went to Mettupetty Dam and took some snaps there
From there we went to Echo Point where I shouted Senthil name which echoed back. There we had a tea from different flavors then we went to Mattupetty Pedal Boating. After the water falls this is the place we enjoyed so much. There, I and Senthil rented the double seated pedal boat for 30 min after reaching some distance we took some snaps between our friends.
From there, we went to place called Top station it is a wonderful place to get the glimpse of kerala and tamilnadu border. After paying entry fee Rs 15 you need trek around 1 km distance to reach the top station. There we enjoyed seeing everything from the top of the mountain and took some snaps with Eswar. After seeing this, we returned back to room on the way we shopped for house hold items for my home and bought the dinner from the road side shop. It was around 2 hrs of travel we felt cold and mist was covering all the places barely driver can’t see other vehicle. Finally, when we reached the home we started to watch the CPL match Mumbai Indian vs Somerset where Mumbai Indians won after the match we started to sleep.
Next day 09-09-2011,
Since few of them wanted to go back to office on Monday we decided to return home on Sunday itself. So, we decided to spend only half a day and return back to home. As per this, when driver came we told our plan and asked him to show the place where we can come back to bus stop early. As per that, he took us to Tata Tea Estate where we paid entry fee Rs 75/- tasted complimentary tea which was best ever tea we tasted. There we have been demonstrated how the tea prepared from plantation and its different verities. Then we I and eswar purchased some tea bags for our home. After, we saw a documentary film about the Munnar and how it has become tourist place. From There, we went to Tea Museum where we took some snaps. In those, one of the highlighted snap was making Dharani stand under buffalo horn which was suited him as like it is actually grown from his head.
After this, we started back to bus stand to get the bus for “Theni” meanwhile the driver helped us to get the jeep to drop us on Madurai. We boarded the jeep around at 3 o clock and started to travel Madurai via “Theni”. On the way to theni we came across many hair pin bends. The driver told it was around 18 plus hair pin bends from Munnar to theni. After we reached theni couldn’t control myself and got motion sick. Then, on the way to Madurai we had tea around “andipatti” district. Then, we reached Madurai around at 9 PM. Since there was a not private bus avilable we took the government bus though it was uncomfortable 8 hrs travel at least we reached home by 7 o clock on Monday 10-10-2011.
It was one of the best trips we made after tirunelveli. On Tirunelveli, sasi, eswar and raman were not part of the whole trip. But in this everyone were there till the end. Though, eswar initially didn’t want to come because the quarrel with dharani later he realized that if he had not come would have missed all the enjoyments. Overall we enjoyed this trip like anything especially the sceneries which we saw in Munnar one of the best ever seen in our life. Hope our next trip will more exiting than this :-)
