Eesan Movie Review - Simply Superb..(18-12-2010)

As planned yesterday, watched the new movie "Esan" with my friends on Express Avenue (Senthil, Sasi, Shankar, Dharani, and Rajesh). This is the first time we have been into Express Avenue to watch the movie. This Mall is renowned as South India's second largest mall. As compare to other malls in Chennai it has world class shopping cum entertainment facility. We reached their around at 10:00 PM. There was automatic ticketing facility for parking experienced first time in Chennai.

Once we entered, the mall has given rich experience. We felt like being in different place. Inside the mall there was a big Christmas tree kept for Christmas celebration. From 3rd floor Me,Sasi Dharani and Shankar have took some photos with sasi mobile.

The movie was around 3hrs, after watching the movie we came back to parking around at 2:30 am next day. We all felt good watching the movie in 1st class theater.

But when we came out of the mall, for parking they were charged 40 rupees / bike which is nearly half of the cost of movie ticket. We feel it is too much. Otherwise it was great fun with my friends after long time.

The Gist of the Movie

A family comes from village to city and spoiled by modern culture . It visualizes current trend of our generation, individual characters, politicians and business man. The role which I loved most in the movie is police character role performed by Samudhra Kani. From start to end of the movie director Sasi Kumar had made everyone edge of their seats. It is a best suspense thriller ever watched till now. The screen play was superb no one can predict any of the scenes till last moment. It was a masterpiece from Sasi Kumar, Hats off to him. He has become one of my favorite Directors.

Sani Prathosham - (18-12-2010)

Yesterday morning sasi called me and asked me to come for Shiva temple in the evening which is in Besant Nagar near to his police station. After I asked him about what is the special he told it is “Sani Prathosham” which is very auspious day in Shiva temple. Since he is wearing “iyappan malai” wanted me to join. Also told, if we pray today our wish will come true. So we went there and saw special abishekam performed for nandhi and lord shiva with all the people chanting manthra’s. After that, went with him for pattinampakkam Iyappan Temple and first time I had Iyappan Dharshan. and, had stomach full of prasadham’s given by the devotees. Meantime, other friends who wearing Iyappan Malai (senthil, rajesh and Dharani) joined with us and had the prasadhams. Then we all went to Anjaneyar Temple and started back home to prepare for Saturday Night Movie Show “ESAN”.

About Sani Prathosham
**********************

Since this is the first time I heard about Sani Prathosham, Just curious to know about it so googled and and found the article in the following link

http://www.eprarthana.com/offers/sanipradosham/sani_pradosham.asp

Once Indra lost his kingdom and found that only if he consumed the Divine Nectar he could rule. So there was a tug of war between the devas and asuras to obtain this nectar. The Devas and Asuras got together to churn the ocean, using Mandramalai & Vaasuki, the snake. As they continued to churn the ocean, Vaasuki the snake began to tire and started spewing its poison. Siva came and consumed all the poison. Thus Siva became blue up to his throat and is also known by the name "Neelakandan" ( neela-blue colour, kandam-throat).

Goddess Parvati rushed and held his neck so that the poison would not spread to the whole of his body. Shiva then became drowsy and selected a village called Surutapalli (near Chennai), where he is seen sleeping on the lap of Parvathi. This is the only temple that houses Lord Shiva in a sleeping position.

Narada, meanwhile, passed on the message and down came the Devas, Brahma, Vishnu and the Saptarishis, to have darshan. They were promptly stopped by Nandi who asked them all to come after some time, as Shiva was resting. All of them waited. Shiva, when he woke up, was filled with extreme happiness and danced ("Ananda Thandavam"). This day, when the Devas, Brahma, Vishnu, Narada and Saptarishis had Shiva darshan was a Krishnapaksha Trayodasi (Stiravaram, Saturday). This is the Mahapradosham day. Pradhosham, generally, is a significant occasion observed with great piety at all Shiva temples.

It is believed that all the Devas & Gods are assembled in the Shiva temples during Pradosham time. Further, the first pradosham was on a Saturday & hence "Sani Pradosham" is even more auspicious.

The day to be remembered 04/12/2010

1st Anniversary for Our New House - 29-11-2010

It was our first anniversary for our New House. Actually, I had forgotten this important day but when I was on office SASI called me and congratulated me. When I asked for what, then he reminded me that it was our 1st anniversary for our new house . For this, I thanked him for reminder and called my mom to inform this she replied, morning itself Appu told about this. Then she reminded me that it was his birthday as per Tamil calendar so he remembered the date. I was totally shamed that to forget both important date which suppose to be remembered. It is one of my bad habits tend to forget the important dates in my life. Though am having more friends who is very close to me we never wishes each other. But at times SASI is exceptional once he remembers the date he never misses to wish them. Moreover, still I use to get a call from our old friends on my birthday but I never wished them back on their birthdays. May be from this moment I should change myself and try to find the important dates in my life and keep reminders for them. Let's see how long i can do this... :)

Tiruvannamalai Trip (21-11-2010)

It was on the day before karthigai deepam. Appu and Shanmugam were discussing to go for Thiruvannamalai. Meanwhile, Appu was asking me weather I am interested to join with them. Usually, appu use to go with his friends so I don’t join them often moreover I had heavy Cold so my mother doesn’t want to go with them. But it was a special occasion so have decided to join with them, and planned to start at evening 7:30. Meanwhile have gone to Anjaneyar temple and come back to home and rain started heavily. By seeing my mother doesn’t want us to go, though it was raining for past two days we had a feeling it doesn’t continue for long so decided against her. Meanwhile, babu anna also joined with us, and around at 9:00 PM we all started to walk to our bus stand and got the bus at around 10:30 PM and reached Koyambedu at around 11:30pm. After seeing the queue for getting the bus ticket we thought it would take another 2 or 3 hrs to get the ticket. But as usual appu had a different plan he took us directly to the bus which goes by Thiruvannamalai and boarded us which saved us lot of time by avoiding the queue.

It was around at 4:30 morning on Kaarthigai Deepam day we reached Thiruvannamalai. As expected, by the time we reached the rain stopped completely and after the Gopura Tharisanam we all started to walk for “Giri Valam”. On the way we had a glimpse of all the lingam and had our prayers for the lingam which belongs to our Raasi. Around at 11:00 AM we finished the “Girivalam” and had our special prayers via “Gopura Tharisanam”. Around at 11:45 AM we started back to home and reached by 5:00 clock. Meantime, my mother had decorated our new house with “lights” which made our new house to look more beautiful in our street:) Since my camera got repaired I miss to capture those beautiful moments :( Also, in our street temple they have fired the karthigai deepam with palm leaves we all saw that and had our prayers. It was very auspicious day for me and my family.
